For the second year in a row, MLB The Show 26 is not available as a Day One title on Xbox Game Pass. While the series used to launch directly into the service from 2021 to 2024, Sony San Diego Studio has decided to change things up for the 2026 season.
Playing on Xbox This Season
Since the game isn’t part of Game Pass at launch, Xbox players need to purchase a standalone copy. Here’s what’s available:
- Standard Edition – $69.99 on the Xbox Store.
- Digital Deluxe Edition – $99.99. Includes extra content like Diamond Dynasty packs and MLB 26 The Show Stubs to help you get a head start.
Even if you don’t want to install it locally, you can still use Xbox Cloud Gaming to stream the game to your devices. Keep in mind, you’ll need to own the game and maintain an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription to access cloud play.

- Supported Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch (including the new Switch 2)

Even though some industry insiders speculate that the game could appear on Game Pass later in the year, there’s no official word from Microsoft or Sony yet.
